Biographical Info:
I lived in Saigon, Vietnam as a VSO volunteer for two years. I worked in a local Vietnamese organisation organising events, and fundraising to support their work offering shelter and vocational training to street children. I was kept very busy but was lucky enough to see a fair bit of the country over the two years I spent there.
I have travelled in India many times, though recently have only managed short trips - I would love to spend a larger amount of time learning about the country and getting involved in some community projects there. I visited Thailand a very long time ago, and can remember little. I have heard nothing but good things about Laos and it is very high on my list of priorities for the next trip!
I never thought I was one for cities until I moved to Saigon - I love the countryside, the breathtaking scenery and the chance to get to know people better in rural areas, versus the hustle and busle of the city.. but now I think the key to cities it to dedicate enough time to really get to know it - no fleeting 2 day stopovers for me any more!
