Ever since i was a kid i've heard my elders speak about my community-the Ahoms,a branch of the shan people who crossed the patkai range and established their kingdom in present day assam in the north eastern part of india.The early origins of my people has always intrigued me and tracing if any traces of my people remain in the shan province i would definitely like to meet them and experience the roots of my ancestors.If anyone has any information on the tribes in the shan province or is visiting there and would like company,i am positively interested.mail me at ricky13@rediffmail.com.
