The Yellow Mountain

One of the rest areas on the way up the mountain. Besides the altitude and height of the mountain, the chilly winter weather is another great challenge!

Huangshan, described by ancient Chinese poets and modern day travelers as "Paradise on Earth", offers breathtaking scenery at every turn. The "Yellow Mountains", which consists of 72 peaks, lies in the Anhui Province in China. Some of the many granite rock formations in the area have quaint names like "Immortal Dries His Boots" or "Lotus Flower in Fog". Other interesting features are its oddly shaped pine trees and crystal-clear water from "the heavens above".
