Description:

If you're looking for a cool place to stay, and are willing to base yourself 25 minutes out of Central HK, you can't beat this place. Clean, comfortable, and infinitely more affordable than any of the "business hotels" of HK or Kowloon. Man Lai is the first place you see off the Lamma Pier (Yung Shue Wan), and most rooms face the sea. Prices are around 300 HK during the week and 400 HK weekends and holidays.

I stayed here one night during my Hong Kong stay in summer 2009. The hotel owner, a homeowner next door to the hotel, is friendly, and the rates are fair. The rooms are clean and come with ample bathroom amenities. A nice TV is also provided, but not cable. The ferry-dock view can't be beat; enjoy it from your room's patio. The stay here was a nice, laid-back change from the hustle and bustle of downtown Hong Kong.

My husband and I stayed for our honeymoon in July 2007. We enjoyed the waterfront view (yes there is a powerstation there). The room was clean, Eric and his staff were very nice. We would definitely come back.
