The Sagami Kite Festival, held during Golden Week in May each year features some of the largest kites in Japan, some weighing over a ton.
Hanami or flower viewing party held each April across Japan when the cherry blossoms or sakura are in bloom.  The blossoms last less than a week, part of the beauty or temporariness dear to the hearts of the Japanese.
