Recipe: Perkedel - Meat and Potato Patties
Serves 4
3 cups mashed potatoes
1 cup finely ground bread crumbs
1 cup ground meat
2 eggs, beaten
1 cup very finely chopped celery
1 medium onion, very finely chopped
2 cloves garlic crushed
2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh hot chilli
3 tablespoons tomato ketchup
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground coriander seeds
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg oil for deep-frying
Thoroughly combine all ingredients, except oil, then form into small patties and set aside. Place patties in well-greased baking pans, then bake in a 350 F pre-heated oven for 1 hour or until patties are well cooked. Serve warm with Sambal Kacang and Sambal Iris sauces
