Kean Fatt Coffee Shop is famous for one specific thing – a stall selling Pork Noodles. Eating here will test your patience to the limit for you could be looking at a half hour wait.

From the moment the stall opens for business (which is from 9:30 a.m. for this particular stall), it never stops bustling until everything is wiped clean by the hungry customers. It is already a norm of the proprietor to inform every customer that a half-hour wait is to be expected. Do not try to argue otherwise, for you will not get your food any faster. In exactly 30 minutes later, my bowl of noodles arrived. It was then that I realized its goodness.

Oh, do remember to order a half-boiled egg too. Pop that in to the steaming soup, mix it up well with the noodles and minced pork, and start eating. The egg-mixed in the soup makes it absolutely delicious and smooth whilst the bits of meat swimming in the soup are totally irresistible. For those who cannot stand innards and pieces of lard in their noodles, it is advisable to forewarn the proprietor when ordering your meal. In order to avoid the ½ hour wait, you should come during off-peak hours - such as 11 am on a weekday would be great! Even that, you are looking at a 15-minute wait. If you cannot wait that long, check out the Pan Mee from another stall! The soup is delicious whilst the noodle has a lovely texture. Both the Pork Noodles and Pan Mee are priced the same – RM3.50 for the small bowl and RM4.00 for the larger bowl. Do add an extra 50 cents for the Pork Noodle should you wish to order the half-boiled egg, which is highly recommended of course.
