Chinese Reflections

I shot this one in Guilin. These two pagodas are in a lake in the center of town, just a stone's throw away from the ultra modern consumerism of Zhejiang pedestrian mall.
This picture was taken in early autumn, in the Sanlitun district, on one of the hideously polluted canals that runs through Beijing. I was particularly impressed with the fact that the reflected image actually looks less polluted than the actual Beijing sky.
This building and its reflection looked to me like a birthday cake made by the enthusiastic but not terribly skilled bake shop employees.

Start

I've long been fascinated with reflections, both my own (very narcissistic, I admit) and the images of buildings and nature as reflected in water. Travelling through China (especially the watery bits) has given me a unique opportunity to indulge this fetish to the fullest.
