by Bjarne Madsen , Aug 9, 2001 | Destinations: Thailand / Phuket
Vehicle after vehicle rolls in with goods before the market can properly open in the late hours of the night. Thousands of pineapples are unloaded and carried to the stalls.

It's nice and fresh, promises the young fishmonger. And he's probably right. The fish at the market comes straight from the fishing harbour at Phuket Town.
People big and small have their regular duties at the market at Ranong Road. But now and again there's time to play a little. And why not use a sack trolley for a trip around the market?
The supplies arrive constantly for the day-market at Ranong Road. If the stores begin to thin out too early in the day they just get replenished.

A story told with photos.
